We started our morning telling some of the legends of Wild Goose Trail. We decided on decaf and took our coffee with us. We all watched and waited for a sighting, but they seemed as elusive as the trail itself. We stopped for a shadow in the trees, down by the creek bed, but it was an elk lumbering through the pines. We heard a far off screech. We paused to listen. It must have been a catbird or perhaps a mountain lion. Look! Lights in the sky! Must have been a jet, far up in the sky. That's when we heard it... footsteps running up behind us. We all stopped and turned about to see...the last member of our expedition who had over slept. I handed him a coffee and we all had a good laugh at his expense and another sip of coffee on Wild Goose Trail.
